Google's Halloween Doodle, No Longer A Mystery

I’m a huge fan of Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and I was thrilled when Google put the Flintstones on the home page for their 50th Anniversary. Now for Halloween, they have made a beautiful Scooby-Doo doodle.

Google has really taken it up a notch when it comes to their home page doodles. Hopefully we’ll see a Jetsons and Tom and Jerry doodle soon.

Visit Google on October 31

Make sure to click the arrows.

Screenshots in case you are viewing this after Halloween.

Amazing Keith Richards Quote About The 'Too Old' Criticism

How do you deal with criticism about the Stones being too old to rock & roll? Do you get pissed off? Does it hurt?
People want to pull the rug out from under you, because they’re bald and fat and can’t move for shit. It’s pure physical envy — that we shouldn’t be here. “How dare they defy logic?”

via rollingstone.com

Classic Keith. If you are a Keith Richards fan ( and how can you not be? ), now is a good time to head over to Rolling Stone. They have a new interview, that also links to several of the past interviews he’s done with them. Some really great stuff. Keith Richards is” Rock And Roll”.

Krist Novoselic, Butch Vig on New Foo Fighters Album

former Nirvana drummer/current Foo Fighters leader Dave Grohl revealed that his ex-Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic will guest on bass on the new Foo Fighters record. The band is currently at work on the album, recording in Grohl’s garage. Butch Vig, who produced Nirvana’s Nevermind, is behind the boards. That means we’ve got three of the four people most responsible for Nevermind, all on one record together.

I couldn’t stop smiling when I saw this picture. It’s great to see these guys working together again. If they recapture 1% of the magic of ‘Nevermind’, we’re in for a real treat.

Welcome to 2010, Nintendo: Apple can 'hurt us' more than Microsoft

Nintendo believes Apple is a bigger threat to its business than Microsoft, the company’s president said in an interview last week.

“Do I think that in the near term [Apple] can hurt us more than Microsoft?” Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said to Forbes in an the interview. “Absolutely.”

via news.cnet.com

Congratulations Nintendo, for finally realizing what the rest of us knew two years ago. I absolutely love Nintendo. They basically invented the video game industry in the 80s, but they fell asleep at the switch in the late 90s, and almost became irrelevant. Then they took the world by storm with two amazing products, the DS and Wii. Now they are at risk again, because they ignored the threat from Apple. Nintendo led the “casual” game revolution, but Apple is now doing it better.

The iPod Touch is a killer portable game system, that also happens to be a great music and movie player, web browser, email client, social media hub, and video camera. It has great games, that can be downloaded with a single click. A significant number of those games are free or only cost 99 cents.

Nintendo’s current strategy is to keep innovating their hardware and UI, but they also have to compete with Apple on price and ease of use.

Kings Of Leon Perform 'Radioactive' on Saturday Night Live

I absolutely love this song, but I wasn’t sure they could pull it off live — they can.

Still, there are still some big questions that remain about how a Mac App Store will work, how Apple will enforce rules governing it, and what kind of app makers will join. But here’s what we do know, in Q&A format.

Video: Atomic Tom Perform Live With Nothing But iPhones

The song is performed live with nothing but iPhones — in one take. The video is shot with footage from three iPhone cameras. And if that isn’t cool enough, they performed it on the B train in New York City.
